The past 12 months have been a challenge for all of us. However, for some of the Barretts team, not only have they had to adapt to all the necessary restrictions connected with the Coronavirus whilst working full time, but they have also had to set aside the time (and motivation) to study for different accounting qualifications.

Nevertheless, their hard work has now paid off!

Tom Seddon has successfully passed all his Chartered Accountants exams meaning that he is now ACA qualified and he will soon be enrolled as a Full Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Tom has worked tirelessly to fit his studies around his Senior Manager role at Barretts and we are thrilled to hear that he has qualified.

However, having got the taste for knowledge and learning, Tom is now broadening his skill base and is studying for his professional tax exams with the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He hopes to have the dual qualification of being a Chartered Tax Adviser alongside his Chartered Accountant title within the next 2 years.

Not to be out done with Tom's exam success, Sophie Minty, our Trainee Accounts Assistant, has recently passed her Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) Level 2 exams. Not only did she pass her exams with 'Distinction', but she also scored 100% on the exam paper 'Using Accounting Software'. A superb achievement all round. Sophie has now progressed to the AAT Level 3 qualification and hopes to pass these exams in the next 12-18 months.

Marianne Barrett Rogers, Director at Barretts said, “We are so proud of Tom and Sophie's achievements, particularly after the difficult year we have all had to deal with. It is great to be able to share some good news and to steer 2021 into a positive direction. We wish them all the best with their studies and we will support them in any way we can.”
